David Manosalvas is a Ph.D Candidate in the department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University. He works in the Aerospace Computing Laboratory under the direction of Professor Antony Jameson who is the Thomas V. Jones Professor of Engineering. Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, he moved to the United States in 2005 and obtained an Associate Degree in Integrated Engineering Technology in 2007 from College of DuPage. He continued his education and was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University in 2011. After focusing on thermodynamics and fluid flow, he decided to continue his career in aerospace and was awarded a Masters of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University in 2014. David is the current president of the student chapter of AIAA at Stanford University and the founding president of the Ecuadorian Student Association (ECUS). He has been an XSEDE Scholar since 2012. His research interests are in active flow control, aerodynamics of ground vehicles, aircraft design and aerodynamics, high order methods, and shape optimization.
